We went out to Anahuac, Texas for the Teal season opening day! This is the first time we've ever done any duck hunting, and we've been wanting to for a while now! Glad we got to go out and experience the outdoors in a way we never have before. We ended up getting presented with many opportunities to take ducks as they flew by. We made the trip east of Galveston to fish the Sabine Pass jetties, and this spot did not disappoint! Our goal was to test a theory — fishing the outgoing tide on the inside of the jetties. On our last trip it produced, and once again it delivered big time. In just a short evening session, we caught speckled trout, red drum, black drum, sharks, and skipjack. The action was non-stop, and we released plenty of fish, only keeping a few choice ones for dinner. With clean water pushing through the surf, the Sabine jetties are proving to be a consistent, productive spot for Texas saltwater anglers.
